As a Senior Critical Illness Claims Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and claims handling within our team. With a base salary of up to £45,000, depending on experience, this role offers the perfect opportunity to develop your leadership skills and take on new challenges.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert guidance and support to Claims Assessors, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to handle complex, contentious, or sensitive claims effectively.

  • You'll work closely with the claims team to identify and address potential issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of team members.
  • Collaborate with reinsurers and medical officers to obtain requirements to support claims assessment, minimizing end-to-end time and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Apply the TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) principles when dealing with customers, clearly outlining the claims journey to manage expectations and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with ABI guidelines for misrepresentation and treating customers fairly, as well as knowledge of legal aspects pertaining to claims.

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience as a Claims Assessor in terminal illness or critical illness claims.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
  • Extensive knowledge of the full claims process, customer journey, various claim events, and insurance products/policy conditions.
  • Strong written communication skills to support accurate customer communication, summarizing case notes, and handling refuted claims.
  • Experience in communicating with reinsurers and medical officers.
