Machine Operative Job Description

Unilin is seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Operative to join our team in Ross On Wye - Insulation. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation, continuous improvement, and upholding quality, health, safety, and welfare standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform all Machine Operative tasks to a high standard, continuously challenging the status quo and driving evolution, continuous improvement, quality, and health, safety & welfare.
  • Encourage and practice safe working practices as set out in the Health and Safety policy.
  • Support the team in performing to quality standards in terms of product quality and housekeeping.
  • Participate in processes and production trials as and when required to ensure successful outcomes and support the technical department.
  • Adhere to plan and achieve line speeds, meeting standards required.
  • Share knowledge with others and support with 'in house' training.
  • Communicate effectively throughout the department and with people clearly and effectively.
  • Carry out necessary administrative tasks and ensure systems are updated as required, ensuring correct and accurate data recording.

Key Tasks and Duties:
  • Work within the ethos and standards of the company.
  • Work in all areas of the factory.
  • Complete training on all functions of MO1 Grade 1.
  • Keep good housekeeping standards in all areas.
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge of all products.
  • Ensure waste is discarded in an appropriate manner.
  • Follow work instructions in all areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Be responsible for your own Health & Safety and the Health and Safety of your fellow employees.
  • Ensure all data to be recorded is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Actively participate within the team to ensure and maintain high standards.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that all targets are achieved.
  • Accurately set up any machine to ensure start-up is completed on time.
  • Communicate with Shift coordinators, Leaders, and team to ensure they are aware of any issues within your designated area.
  • Work and communicate with other members of the team to ensure transfer of information with regard to your role.
  • Ensure quality guidelines are followed for all areas.
  • Undertake flexible working hours to meet deadlines.
  • Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management.
