The role involves carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs of cars to the best possible standard with a first-time fix.
As a Wessex Garages Vehicle Technician, you will receive full manufacturer training and support to progress your technical career using the latest facilities.
Suitable candidates must be keen to achieve, maintain, and develop the necessary skill sets required by our highly successful aftersales departments when servicing vehicles.
Key Objectives:
- To accurately and skilfully undertake the repair and servicing of motor vehicles work in accordance with the brand's technical standards and within the budgeted time
- To examine vehicles and diagnose non-routine defects, or additional faults either in the workshop or during road tests
- To achieve and maintain technical knowledge and skill set for diagnosing and servicing vehicles
- To utilize the Company's facilities and processes to maximise your productivity on vehicles
- Fulfill all tasks to the customer's complete satisfaction
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with retailer, manufacturer, and industry guidelines
- Help retailer achieve industry-leading standards of process efficiency
- Attend regular training to update technical skills
Applicant's requirements:
- You must have a full manual driving licence with no more than 6 points
- Level 3 City and Guilds or NVQ's in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Qualifications
- Preferably Main Dealer workshop experience
Further Information:
- Full manufacturer training provided annually, all costs covered by Wessex Garages
- Core hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5.30pm with 1⁄2 hour lunch, 1 in 3 Saturdays on a rota 8:30am - 12:30pm
- 30 days holiday per year (22 days + 8 statutory bank holidays)
- Subsidised car option after successful completion of probation
- Opportunity for overtime and commission scheme
