About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and proactive Husbandry Technician to join our scientific team at our Portishead site in the UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-level animal care and ensuring the welfare of our animals is always a priority.
Main Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day animal care, including maintaining accurate records of animal health, stock, equipment, and environmental monitoring.
- Ensuring the availability of necessary materials, animal enrichment elements, supplies, and general maintenance of the animal unit.
- Supporting colleagues by performing various procedures, setting up equipment, and providing materials for studies.
- Working closely with Senior Technicians, Scientists, and Managers on projects to ensure models are well-supported.
- Adhering to all health and safety protocols and reporting any quality issues immediately.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Biological Sciences, Animal Welfare, or a similar field.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Passion for animal care and welfare.
- Experience working with rodents or small animals is an advantage.
- Ability to travel to our Portishead site daily.
