We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Assistant to join our team at Shoalter Automation (UK) Ltd. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and partnering with reliable vendors and suppliers of groceries and non-food items across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development and execution of purchasing strategies to meet business objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation and effective vendor management.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking to optimize procurement processes.
- Assess, manage, and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships and procurement activities.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- At least 1 year of proven work experience in a purchasing role, preferably in the groceries sector.
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management, including experience with vendor management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data and work with figures.
- Solid judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to make informed purchasing decisions.
- BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration, or equivalent experience.
