HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Shipping & Energy and Aerospace sectors. We have a number of permanent and contract vacancies for multiple businesses across the UK and overseas.

The Marine Manager will be responsible for overseeing marine operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards, and providing technical support to the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Issue directives related to cargo operations and navigation.
  2. Assess and confirm ship-shore compatibility, responding to terminal or charterer screenings as needed.
  3. Review and update Ship Specific Operation Manuals.
  4. Provide technical support concerning nautical, cargo, and mooring equipment.
  5. Act as the Marine & HSEQ Director's proxy on marine matters during their absence.
  6. Provide recommendations on crew training and education.
  7. Participate in office audits and, when necessary, attend vessels during external audits and inspections.
  8. Assist the CSO with maritime security concerns.
  9. Navigate challenges related to ship-shore compatibility, TCP performance warranties, and nationalization with guidance from the Marine & HSEQ Director.
  10. Manage nautical and cargo operations, ship operations, and customer satisfaction concerning CP Performance Warranties and marine activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. A minimum of one year as a Master Mariner on a Gas Carrier or equivalent experience as recognized by the Director, Marine & HSEQ.
  2. Shore based experience.
  3. Advanced Tanker Safety Training (Gas).
  4. Training in Risk Assessment, Incident Investigation, and Analysis.
  5. Familiarity with crewing matters in line with Oil Majors' requirements.
  6. In-depth knowledge of vessel operational procedures and LNG/tanker cargo operations.
  7. Proficiency in internal and external audit processes.
  8. Understanding of ship-shore compatibility procedures in line with SIGTTO or customer-specific requirements.
  9. Expertise in risk assessment and global ocean passage planning in accordance with IMO guidelines.
