Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Wincanton. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely Management Accounts for Support Functions and supporting balance sheet reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly production of Management Accounts, delivering an accurate set of accounts including a variance analysis for presentation to the Finance Business Partner.
  • Reconcile the balance sheet with timely query resolution.
  • Responsibility for the Budget / Forecast process, providing the Business Partner with information for functional review and incorporating changes as instructed.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Review key overhead spend categories and provide analytical insight for decision making.
  • Provision of ad-hoc support to the accounting services team as required.

Requirements

  • Currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/AAT).
  • Experience of preparing accounting packs including variance analysis.
  • Experience of working to deadlines.
  • Ability to identify process improvements that deliver quality / efficiency benefits.
  • A good understanding of accounting concepts to manage the timing and treatment of transactions in line with company policy.
  • Organised and structured approach to meeting deadlines.
