As a key member of our Sodexo team, you will provide efficient administration to support the site, ensuring that our domestic services team can deliver a high-quality service to our clients and visitors.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing a comprehensive portering service within the premises for parliamentary staff, MSPs, their staff, journalists, guests, and visitors to the Scottish Parliament.
  • Moving and setting up furniture, television/audio-visual equipment, and IT equipment used within the premises as directed. The ability to assemble and disassemble the equipment is essential.
  • Carrying out daily checks and responding to minor problems involving static IT equipment installed within some of the meeting rooms.
  • Being the first point of contact for minor problems with equipment or replacement of office consumables for equipment such as multi-function devices, printers, and fax machines.
  • Safely and efficiently completing tasks as required in compliance with Sodexo and client instructions, procedures, and policies.
  • Alerting management to any safety or operational issues that need addressing in a timely manner.
  • Escorting visitors/contractors around the premises – there are occasions when the Core-Team Personnel would be required to escort visitors or contractors who are not security cleared around the premises.
  • Conducting inventories/surveys of storerooms and FM equipment – this task requires to be carried out periodically to ensure that storeroom inventories held internally and externally are accurate.
  • Collecting mail bags from St Andrews House, Scottish Government building in Edinburgh, and delivering to the mail room at the premises.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles at the loading bay of Holyrood. This includes but is not limited to; the SPCB van, contractor vehicles, general deliveries, equipment for events, and exhibitions.

Requirements:

  • Fulfill the necessary Sodexo vetting requirements.
  • Be physically capable of completing all tasks within possible realms of reasonable adjustment being made where necessary.
  • Hold a full clean driving license (preferable).
  • Be flexible and responsive to the changing daily priorities.
  • Ability to work additional hours as requested to meet the business demands, including evenings and weekends.
  • Able to work on own and as part of a team to fulfill works in a 'best in class' environment.
  • Customer focused in service delivery and able to communicate eloquently face to face and via radio.

Package Details:

  • Hours per week.
  • Monday - Friday 07:30 - 16:00.
  • Fixed Term Covering Maternity (18 Weeks). Must pass vetting.
  • Hourly rate.
  • Easy access to public transport.
