We are now seeking motivated and suitably qualified Assistant Project Managers to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England.
The Role
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for ensuring delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule.
This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time, and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to other elements of the programme.
- Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and execute the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work.
- Ensure the List of Deliverables (LOD) relating to the scope of work is delivered.
- Assist in securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.
- Develop, manage, and update (with the project controls team) project and programme plans including full costing, development of WBSs, resource management, cost management of risk, and critical path review, using appropriate software and tools.
- Manage change control as the project/programme scope changes, using the correct processes and updating necessary configuration documentation.
- Understand the need for project baseline control and different types of baseline change.
- Apply the principles of Earned Value Management (EVM).

- Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
- Planning software e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project.
- Cost software e.g. SAP.
- Risk software e.g. ARM (Risk, Opportunity, and Trends), EcoSys (Changes), @risk (QCRA), Safran (QSRA).
- English – written and verbal.
- Microsoft Office.

Salary
The salary for this role is approximately £55,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
