Are you a skilled maintenance professional looking for a new challenge? We are seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team at one of the leading automated distribution organisations in the UK.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work out of one of their newest UK facilities, where you will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all automated materials handling systems.

You will carry out Predictive Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and project work, working on conveyors, automated stacker cranes, SCADA systems, barcode readers, scanners, cooling systems, refrigeration, site services, palletisers, automated turntables, PLC's, elevators, and more.

You will be working in a cold storage / freezer facility, carrying out reactive and planned maintenance of automated stacker cranes that can operate up to 32 metres high. You will also maintain refrigeration, chiller systems, facilities, shutter doors, site & building services, and assist in developing PPM schedules for all of the new machinery & systems.

This is a problem-solving role, with a majority of the workload being fault finding and troubleshooting at the moment. You will deal with gearboxes, bearings, rollers, shafts, drives, sensors, control panels, servo drives, and be happy working at heights - up to 32 metres on cranes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a multi-skilled engineer, electrically biased, qualified to NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical Engineering, ideally apprenticeship trained. You will also need to be comfortable working in cold and freezer conditions (-22 degrees) on and off, and have strong electrical & mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills.

You will have experience working in automated warehouse, distribution, FMCG, manufacturing environments, and be experienced in working on conveyors, rollers, stackers, refrigeration, chillers, site services. You will also have PLC - electrical fault finding skills and be an open character and team player, willing to help in all areas across the site.
