Mechanical Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Tarmac Swinden Quarry. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work with minimal supervision. They should have a strong practical mechanical systems background and possess fault-finding abilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintenance Activities: Perform routine maintenance activities on production equipment.
- Breakdown Response: Respond promptly to plant breakdowns, ensuring timely resolution and temporary fixes followed by permanent solutions.
- Project Management: Own small-scale projects, delivering them in a pragmatic and proactive way.
- Cost Control: Adopt a cost-conscious approach to maintenance activities.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with contractors and suppliers when they are on site.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the engineering function through observations and experience.
- A recognised apprenticeship (preferably higher-level standard)
- ONC/HNC (desirable but not essential)
- Strong practical mechanical systems background
- Fault-finding ability
- Ability to remove and fit bearings
- IT literacy
- Ability to assess SHE risks
