About the Role

This exciting opportunity allows you to work with diverse technology in a pro-open-source organization undergoing IT transformation. Our team seeks an experienced Systems Administrator with a strong Linux skill set to join an innovative and growing team, participating in various exciting projects within a broader business change program.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborating with the IT Operations Manager to maintain server systems, networking infrastructure, and communications.
  2. Designing, implementing, upgrading, managing, and maintaining Linux server systems, networks, voice, and desktop infrastructures.
  3. Ensuring system availability through effective maintenance, monitoring, and change control strategies.
  4. Specifying and procuring equipment, software, and services.
  5. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation on all relevant IT systems, services, and procedures.
  6. Managing user accounts and access permissions.
  7. Supporting the IT security policy and associated policies.
  8. Guaranteeing the security of all systems and adherence to legal requirements.
  9. Ensuring the effective management of company data, including adherence to backup and restore procedures.
  10. Providing training, coaching, and mentorship to other administrators and support personnel.
  11. Establishing and nurturing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  12. Leading initiatives for implementing business systems solutions and information management processes.
  13. Overseeing the ongoing monitoring of the IT infrastructure to ensure systems can handle their assigned workloads without compromise.
  14. Efficiently implementing changes to the IT infrastructure, while following Change Control methodologies and ensuring thorough documentation.
  15. Regularly providing updates and reports on workload performance, system improvements, and any IT-related issues that may impact business operations.
  16. Supporting developers and business analysts in designing and implementing new systems.
  17. Offering out-of-hours support for IT systems as needed.
  18. Contributing to the development and implementation of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans, processes, and procedures.
