Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join NHS Scotland as a National Clinical Lead: Pharmacy Specialist. The successful candidate will provide clinical and professional expertise to the Primary Care Phased Investment Programme, focusing on pharmacotherapy and community treatment and care services.

The ideal candidate will be a pharmacist with extensive knowledge and recent experience of working in a primary care setting, supporting the implementation of the Pharmacotherapy Service as part of the GMS contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and professional expertise to the Primary Care Phased Investment Programme
  • Develop a culture of continual improvement across primary care settings
  • Build evidence to understand the national context for implementation
Requirements
  • Pharmacist with extensive knowledge and recent experience of working in a primary care setting
  • Experience of supporting the implementation of the Pharmacotherapy Service as part of the GMS contract
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills
What We Offer

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a national improvement initiative. The successful candidate will have a critical role in providing clinical knowledge and expertise of primary care practice to inform the design and delivery of the programme.

The post holder will be expected to contribute their expertise on pharmacy in primary care more widely within Healthcare Improvement Scotland.

It is essential that the post holder is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Royal Pharmaceutical Society membership is desirable.
