Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team at Leap29, a leading renewable energy project developer. This role will involve supporting the processing of planning applications, managing consultants and third parties, and ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate the preparation, revision, and submission of planning applications for TCPA and DCO Solar PV and BESS projects, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
  2. Prepare planning-related reports and recommendations in line with internal processes and procedures.
  3. Manage the internal budgeting forecast for planning activities for each project.
  4. Oversee all planning-related sub-consultants.
  5. Conduct site inspections concerning planning applications.
  6. Advise the company and consultants on the content of applications before and after submission.
  7. Coordinate and prepare evidence for written representation appeals, and represent the company at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries when necessary.
  8. Inform the Line Manager if any of the above duties and responsibilities cannot be performed.
  9. Perform any other duties as required to support the business, including maintaining business continuity and handling emergencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. A planning degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure or renewable energy project planning in the UK.
  2. Proven experience in negotiating Section 106 agreements.
  3. Extensive experience in a variety of Development Management (DM) tasks within either Local Planning Authorities (LPA) or the private sector, including handling complex applications, appeals, and providing pre-application advice.
  4. Familiarity with Development Consent Orders (DCOs).
  5. Experience with Section 36 (S36) applications.
Estimated Salary:

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
