Maintenance Technician

About the Role
Centaur Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our site facilities, including plant, equipment, and maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure all systems are properly inspected and maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections of fire suppression systems, including sprinkler tests and zone valve tests.
- Inspect external fire doors and ensure they are free and unobstructed.
- Perform PAT testing on new equipment and conduct regular checks on existing equipment.
- Carry out emergency light testing and ensure all lights on site are functioning properly.
- Inspect racking for damage and ensure it is properly maintained.
- Conduct weekly visual inspections of generators, heaters, and other equipment.
- Ensure all fire extinguishers are properly maintained and inspected.
- Develop and maintain system records and update them as necessary.
- Support requests to view CCTV footage and provide assistance with vending machine issues.
- Provide out-of-hours on-call cover and be available to respond to temperature alarms and other emergencies.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to forward think and anticipate potential issues.
- Knowledge of COSHH guidelines and ability to ensure compliance.
- Support and engage with company Environment, Health, and Safety policies and procedures.

Working Hours
This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work a standard 37.5-hour week. However, flexibility is required to respond to emergencies and out-of-hours calls.
