Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Design Manager to join our team at Benx Façades. As a Technical Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the technical design and support for our rainscreen systems. You will work closely with our commercial and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery and provide technical expertise to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Design and Support: Lead the technical design and support for our rainscreen systems, including the development of specifications and project support for major projects.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with our commercial and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery and provide technical expertise to our customers.
  • Product Management: Manage the technical functions related to our product range and provide support to projects.
  • Gatekeeper: Be the gatekeeper for all elements of facade design and technical support of rainscreen projects.
  • Customer Focus: Set and maintain examples of technical customer focus and promote best practice across the teams at all opportunities.
  • Risk Management: Proactively manage risk at both day-to-day and project levels to meet customer and business needs.
  • Improvement and Innovation: Engage with customers, RSMs, and Directors to identify areas for continual improvement and commerciality needs.
  • Documentation and Communication: Develop and maintain key documentation for technical sales support activities, including product updates and regular communications.
  • Performance Driven Documentation: Create performance-driven documentation to support Technical Officers and Project/Sales Lead activities.
  • Technical Performance and Validation: Be the main source of all technical performance and validation of standards, which feed into the technical team and wider business.
  • Support and Sign-off: Provide technical support to Technical Officers in the production of project and product documentation at key stages of project life and final sign-off where relevant.
  • Industry Expertise: Be a company product industry expert and support on area of specialism within the technical group.
  • Enquiries and Maintenance: Manage all enquiries and maintenance of BBA/KIWA contracts.
  • Product Development and System Costs: Support and investigate ongoing product development and system costs, while maintaining required performance standards.
  • External Sources of Technical Information: Manage external sources of technical information, including NBS Plus.
  • Company and Industry Standards: Maintain company and industry standards to ensure the group is abreast of all relevant regulatory standards.
  • Product Documentation Database: Maintain the product documentation database and communicate to the wider business.
  • Marketing and Website Development: Support marketing activities and website development, including CPD material and product literature.
  • Trade Bodies and Industry Committees: Represent the business at trade bodies and industry technical committees.
  • Supplier Engagement: Engage with suppliers in conjunction with procurement to develop knowledge development and continual product improvement.
  • Resource Management: Manage all resources to ensure timely delivery of departmental and business goals.
  • Compliance and Test Records: Maintain compliance and accurate test records for products at all times.
  • Technical Team Meetings: Attend and manage technical team meetings where appropriate.
  • Representation: Provide representation as required.
  • Technical Support: Innovate and deliver technical support to both internal and external customers in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Design Manager who has a strong understanding of external façade and cladding systems. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Management Experience: Proven management experience in a similar role.
  • Commercial and Contractual Awareness: Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Project Management: Ability to project manage effectively.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literate with a working knowledge of CAD, AutoCAD, Rivet, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
  • Problem Evaluation and Solving: Structured problem evaluation and solving experience.
  • Interpersonal Skills: High interpersonal skills to work across boundaries.
  • Focus Under Pressure: Ability to maintain clear focus under pressure.
  • Business and Market Knowledge: Knowledge of business and markets.
