This leading energy company is working on a prestigious construction project, Hinkley Point C, which will significantly contribute to the UK's future energy independence. The joint Design Office (JDO) has been established to reinforce site-based engineering, ensuring a quick response to engineering queries and problems. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to focus on the electrical scope across the CI/BOP and Nuclear Island building elements of the project.

Vacancy Overview:

The role will be centered on the electrical discipline, interfacing with other disciplines and parties, including site Contractors, Construction teams, Quality teams, Project Management teams, and Design teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to General Queries, Non-Conformances, Change Requests, and Exemption Requests
  • Providing oversight to ensure Nuclear Safety and Environmental Regulation requirements are met
  • Challenging design decisions to align engineering and design with the project strategy
  • Assisting in coordinating support from external organizations
  • Contributing to the resolution and closure of Open Points
  • Assessing technical risk and addressing it
  • Reporting operationally to an Engineering Lead

The Skills:

Required qualifications and experience include:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience in electrical design, installation, and/or commissioning
  • Experience applying multi-disciplinary technical knowledge within the nuclear industry
  • Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly in a site environment
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive, report on, and escalate relevant issues

Working Arrangements:

This role offers hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Flexible working hours are available to accommodate traveling, with a standard 40-hour week, Monday to Friday. The salary range is £380 - £520, dependent on the pay route.
