Job Title: Head of MASH, Out of Hours, Assessment & Safeguarding (South Locality)

About the Role:

The Head of MASH, Out of Hours, Assessment & Safeguarding (South Locality) will provide strategic leadership for a range of statutory children's social care services, ensuring the safeguarding and promotion of children's welfare is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor an annual business plan, ensuring effective performance management, including risk and capacity issues across the portfolio of services.
  • Ensure the development, implementation, and monitoring of service plans, policies, projects, and frameworks within Children's Social Care, aligning with national policy guidance and strategic priorities.
  • Implement and maintain Liverpool's child protection procedures and standards, ensuring consistent compliance and reporting any barriers to compliance or improvement to the Safeguarding Children's Partnership.
  • Act as lead representative on various groups and panels, both locally and regionally, and chair the Legal Gatekeeping Panel, making decisions on pre-proceedings and care proceedings.
  • Drive and passion to deliver excellent services and continuously improve practice quality and standards, ensuring a positive difference and brighter future for children and young people and their families/carers.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in strategic planning and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of children's social care policies and procedures, with a focus on safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions, with a focus on improving outcomes for children and young people.
