A leading global independent energy and marine consultant, we work in energy and oceans to de-risk and drive the energy transition across the renewables, maritime, and oil and gas sectors. Our expertise spans over 300 locations globally.

You will conduct vessel surveys and undertake incident investigations for our clients. This may involve undertaking services such as vessel manoeuvring simulations, marine risk studies, vessel moorings and port operation assessments. Salary  £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.

Job Type: Full-time
Location: United Kingdom, London

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and audits onboard ships as required by the client.
  • Take part in technical and procedural reviews and marine study reports covering marine and offshore projects.
  • Attend transportation and other marine operations as needed.
  • Provide expert witness opinion within your specialist field, both written and potentially at court or arbitration.
  • Assist ABL Group in securing surveying and expert witness work opportunities with P&I clubs, H&M insurers, ship owners, managers, charterers and law firms.

Requirements:

  • An experienced Master Mariner with at least 7 years' worth of seagoing experience.
  • Desirable command experience but not essential.
  • A Master Mariner (STCW II/2) license.
  • Proven experience working within the marine consultancy space.
  • Proven experience of undertaking expert witness work and suitability, pre-purchase and condition surveys.
