Job Summary:
As a Senior Podiatrist in our Offender Health team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality podiatric care to patients within HMP settings. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and treating patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities:
- To comply with all relevant policies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
- To assess capacity and gain valid informed consent from patients, working within a legal framework when necessary.
- To deliver a wide range of podiatric treatments, including nail surgery, MSK/biomechanics, wound care, diabetes care, and routine care, tailored to each patient's needs.
- To provide specialist advice, teaching, and training to other members of the multidisciplinary team as required.
- To maintain your clinical professional development (CPD) by staying up-to-date with the latest trends and developments, incorporating them into your work as necessary.
- To be an active member of the CPD training programme, attending and delivering presentations, and participating in external courses and reflective practice.
- To undertake the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through Evidence-Based Practice projects, audit, and outcome measures.
- To demonstrate a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management, applying it to your work situation.
- To represent Premier Physical Healthcare externally, promoting the podiatry service provided to patients.
- To maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date documentation, communicating assessment and treatment results to the appropriate bodies.
- To be actively involved in the monthly collection of data and statistics, including audits and outcome measures.
- To be aware of Health and Safety aspects of your work, implementing policies to improve the safety of your work area.
- To comply with company policies and procedures, and to be involved in reviewing and updating them as necessary.
