Financial Director

Goonhilly Earth Station Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance function, you will play a critical role in driving our financial planning and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial planning and budgeting processes to support business growth.
- Manage financial transactions and processing systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, including outsourced processes.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to provide financial input on proposals and operations.
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place and in compliance with reporting standards and applicable regulatory legislation.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
- Responsible for risk management and mitigation, including evaluating insurance options and choosing suitable ones for the company.
- Oversee financial due diligence process of acquisitions.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent).
- Degree, or relevant professional qualifications, or equivalent ability demonstrated through experience.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law, accounting standards and risk management practices.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
- Proven experience of financial forecasting.
- An analytical mindset and comfort working with numbers.
- The ability to accept and provide feedback, be challenged on your advice, and work well under pressure.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Fluent level of both spoken and written English.
Desirable:
- Experience in Satellite & Space Communications, Defence or Government sectors.
- Proven leadership experience in managing departments and teams.
- Knowledge of XERO.
