Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Specialist to join our team at Groupe VIVESCIA's Southall site in West London.

About the Role

This is a highly skilled and motivated position focused on continuous improvement, delivering effective first-class maintenance support to the factory. The successful candidate will be responsible for displaying a clear shop floor focus, building relationships with production teams, and identifying issues before they arise.

The role requires a strong understanding of control and automation systems, as well as experience in programming PLC, HMI & SCADA systems. The ideal candidate will have a high level of competence with IT systems and tools, including Siemens TIA Portal / Unified and Rockwell platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Display a clear shop floor focus, spending 95% of time on the shop floor, building relationships with production teams, and identifying issues before they arise.
  • Ensure all reactive and proactive maintenance is completed 'Right First Time' (RFT), in a timely manner, and according to quality and HSE guidelines.
  • Perform mechanical skills, including full mechanical understanding of power transmission systems, product manufacturing, and transport systems, as well as assisting in in-house fabrication works (milling, welding, etc).
  • Utilize electrical skills, including full diagnostic ability in fault finding of all electrical systems up to and including PLC level, with a preference for Siemens S7 experience. A full ability to understand electrical diagrams is essential.
  • Fault find and program robotics, including Kuka and Fanuc systems, which are essential.
  • Actively participate in lean initiatives, including TPM, and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, always seeking to improve plant performance and reliability.
  • Ensure full compliance on all engineering data systems and be comprehensive in demonstrating root cause analysis skills and a solid fault-finding process on both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Work on own initiative, making calculated decisions based on an analytical approach, and be able to work flexible hours to accommodate production and business needs.
Requirements
  • Strong engineering background with a thorough technical knowledge of Control, Automation, and Safety Systems and equipment.
  • Appropriate Computer/Engineering related qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experience.
  • Experience in design of control and automation systems, programming of PLC, HMI & SCADA systems, commissioning, testing, and client support of industrial control systems.
  • A high level of competence with IT systems and tools, including experience of Siemens TIA Portal / Unified and Rockwell platforms.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a comprehensive health insurance package, pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.
