Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust solutions to complex business challenges using Java applications and the ION toolset.
  • Refactor, enhance, and maintain existing components and solutions to ensure optimal performance.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and lead demonstration sessions with key business stakeholders.
  • Gather requirements by eliciting key information from business users and translating these into IT specifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with global IT teams across multiple locations to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Support the production operations team during rollouts and provide ongoing production support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expert-level experience with ION.
  • Strong understanding of swaps trading and clearing workflows.
  • In-depth knowledge of bond pricing, ideally including experience with PXE.
  • Proficiency in Java development, with experience in building low-latency, multi-threaded applications.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns; exposure to functional programming is a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile teams.
  • Strong understanding of Rates and Credit bonds and derivatives.
  • Detailed knowledge of trading venues such as Bloomberg and TradeWeb.
  • Experience with automated testing and continuous integration.
  • Proficiency in Python, Perl, or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with Kafka.
  • Previous experience working in the financial sector.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
