About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SEND Personal and Academic Development Coach to join our team at North Hertfordshire College. As a key member of our Supported Studies and Springboard team, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1-2-1 and small group academic tutoring to students, including targeted support to those who need intervention to achieve their goals.
  • Deliver core tutorial content related to keeping safe, healthy and well, including Prevent, safeguarding and healthy relationships.
  • Work with colleagues to develop impactful sessions and provide refreshers to students throughout the year.
  • Support students to access tailored online learning to enhance their academic and personal development.
Requirements
  • A teaching qualification (CertEd, PGCE, DET, AET) or a willingness to complete relevant teacher training.
  • Minimum of grade 4 (previously GCSE grade C) in maths and English.
  • An understanding of the pastoral needs of the 16-19 age group.
  • Confidence and personal presence to lead sessions with students.
  • An ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
