Job Description

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team in one of our excellent Primary Schools in Gateshead. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour, and will be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner
  • Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities
  • Preparing resources for lessons
  • Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required
Requirements
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
  • A recognised Childcare-based qualification (although not essential)
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • Experience in classrooms supporting students (although not essential)
