Job Overview:

Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Disabled Children's Team in Andover, covering Test Valley Directorate. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering quality services to children with disabilities and their families, utilizing a strength-based approach model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex caseload of children with disabilities, undertaking holistic social work assessments to identify risk and need.
  • Work closely with children and their families to develop and review plans that address and mitigate concerns in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with health and education professionals to develop support packages for children with complex needs.
  • Utilize knowledge of alternative methods used to communicate with children with disabilities, where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Essential: Social Work qualification and prior experience of working with children with disabilities.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of legislation governing work with Children with Disabilities, including the Children's Act 1989 as amended, the Children's Act 2002, the Care Act 2014, and the Children and Families Act 2014.
