Job Description

We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our team as a financial transactions clerk. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing 4 monthly payrolls, totaling around 1300 individuals.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in payroll and ideally have worked with multiple payrolls. They will also possess up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and technical skills to manage payroll in an organization using an electronic HR/Payroll system.

Responsibilities:

  1. Be the first point of contact for payroll queries from employees, Client Councils, and external payroll-related stakeholders.
  2. Process expenses and payroll for PSPS and Client Councils through the HR and Payroll system.
  3. Calculate and process all statutory and occupational payments such as sick pay, maternity pay, etc.
  4. Administer the Local Government Pension Scheme and ensure that the appropriate information is communicated to relevant pension providers, HMRC, and other statutory and pension scheme bodies.
