The Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead, drive, and deliver complex multimillion-pound projects. You will be responsible for the overall ownership of 33-132kV switchgear and primary substation projects from award to completion for various renewable technologies.


As a key point of contact, you will work closely with the Commercial Design and Supply Chain departments to ensure our projects are delivered first time, every time, against budget and in full.

An Idea of What You'll Be Doing:
  • You will design, maintain, and own programs of work for projects, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • You will provide project planning, milestone management, scope management, resource forecasting, financial management, and change management across the project portfolio.
  • You will maximize profitability for the business by considering innovative technologies, better practices, or sustainable solutions to deliver project efficiencies.
  • You will attend site when necessary to troubleshoot, monitor quality, oversee progression, or conduct audits.
  • You will communicate routine updates and reports at an operational and commercial level internally and externally.


Requirements

You'll Have a Proven Track Record of:

  • Best practice project management with extensive experience, particularly within the electrical utility industry.
  • Understanding the project life cycle from ownership to completion, along with an awareness and management of cross-functional interdependencies.
  • Problem-solving, strategic thinking, and being agile in challenging situations, with the ability to find appropriate cost-effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, adapting your communication style when required, along with the ability to work alongside multiple teams at any one time.
  • Top-notch organization and coordination skills, with the ability to drive and deliver complex multimillion-pound projects.

You'll Already Have Experience & Qualifications in:

  • Working for an ICP or DNO at EHV voltage levels (33-132kV).
  • Project Management with a qualification or equivalent experience (e.g., Prince 2, APM, PMI).
  • The use of Productivity and Collaboration Software, such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint, across multiple platforms.
  • The use of MS Project or equivalent Project Management software.
  • A full UK driving license.
