About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Academic Support Specialist to join our team at a Secondary School in Barking. As a key member of our support staff, you will work closely with students to provide personalized academic and pastoral support, helping them overcome barriers to learning and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group coaching to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop tailored learning plans.
  • Offer pastoral care and support, helping students manage behaviour, develop study skills, and build self-confidence.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and adapting support strategies as needed.

Requirements:

  • A patient, proactive, and supportive approach to assisting students with diverse needs.
