Role/Department

The Operational Resilience Business Continuity Management Team Manager will support the Central Team and Practice Lead in coordinating Business Continuity Management across Business Units and Corporate Functions, and develop/implement Northern Trust's Operational Resilience Framework and policies relevant to BCM, thereby enhancing the Firm's resilience and enabling it to plan for and respond to significant business disruptions.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supporting the analysis of business continuity requirements and development of robust recovery strategies related to prioritizing service continuity.
  • Implementing and embedding the Operational Resilience framework/Business Continuity requirements across Business Units and Corporate Functions.
  • Developing and maintaining Operational Resiliency plans that facilitate the recovery of critical resources, people, processes, technology, facilities, and vendors.
  • Understanding business exposures and potential business impacts.
  • Reporting on Business Continuity Risks.
  • Providing management reporting regarding recovery capabilities and remediation activities.
  • Collaborating with the Non-Financial Risk function and Business Continuity stakeholders to develop and maintain Business Continuity strategies, policies, and standards.
  • Identifying and resolving complex operational problems leveraging internal and external resources within or outside the Operational Resiliency department.
  • Staying current on regulatory requirements, internal policies, and controls related to operational resilience and business continuity.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Substantial experience in Business Continuity Management/Operational Resilience.
  • Proven leadership skills, managing teams, setting priorities, and allocating resources to align with business objectives.
  • Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, e.g., ISO22301 and FCA/PRA/FFIEC/BoE publications related to Business Continuity Management/Operational Resilience.
  • Proficiency in Business Continuity Management technology tools, specifically Fusion.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement, inclusive management style, and experience managing Business Continuity/Operational Resilience/Incident Management/operational processes/risk management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve measurable results.
