About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others. As a Befriender 'Out and About' Volunteer, you will play a vital role in our supported living service in Exeter, providing companionship and support to individuals with disabilities. Your time commitment can be flexible, and you will have the freedom to choose activities that bring joy to those we support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with disabilities.
  • Assist with daily tasks and activities, such as going for walks, attending events, or simply having a cup of coffee together.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection procedures.
  • Attend training sessions to develop your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • To be kind, empathetic, and friendly, with a good sense of humour and love to chat.
  • To be punctual and reliable, with the ability to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures.
  • To be able to assist when necessary with sighted guide/orientation.
