Housing Enablement Specialist

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Housing Enabling Officer. This part-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary of £36,124 - £42,708 per annum (pro rata) for 22.5 hours of work per week.
In this role, you will work closely with planners, developers, communities, and housing associations to deliver affordable housing that meets the needs of residents. Your expertise in housing management, town planning, or development will be invaluable in ensuring that the right types of homes are built.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you should have knowledge and experience of housing-related practices and challenges. A degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience is essential. Additionally, you should be a confident communicator who can analyze data, legislation, policies, and drawings to provide recommendations to various audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
You will negotiate with housing developers, influence planning decisions on behalf of those in housing need, and help complete legal agreements. Your ability to advise community groups and elected officials will be crucial in delivering community-led housing schemes. Furthermore, you will analyze data to understand housing needs and ensure that the right homes are built.
