About the Role

The Metal Fabricator role at GKN Aerospace is a critical position that requires a high level of skill and attention to detail. As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks related to metal fabrication, including cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the team's efforts to create a safe and efficient work environment by adhering to standard work procedures and reporting any safety concerns or quality issues to your Team Leader.
• Undertake tasks in compliance with training and standard work, and make any problems or concerns known to your Team Leader.
• Exemplify a safety-first mindset and follow all GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
• Understand your team's Key Performance Indicators and your contribution to them.
• Support the team and Team Leader in problem-solving and contribute ideas based on your experience.
• Be an active member of the team, promoting collective engagement and collaboration.

Requirements

• Four to five years of experience in metal fabrication or a comparable classification.
• Knowledge of shop mathematics, production methods, shop practices, and working quality of materials and equipment operation.
• Ability to work from information such as drawings, shop sketches, sample parts, specifications, job instruction sheets, or layouts, handbooks, formulas, and engineering instructions.
