Job Type: Contract, Full-time

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Horley, Surrey. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students aged 4-11.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and activities to groups of children.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the class teacher and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend to children's personal needs, including minor first aid, and offer guidance on pastoral, social health, physical hygiene, and welfare matters.
  • Engage with teachers, caregivers, and parents to monitor student development and progress.
  • Support children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to facilitate their learning and understanding.
  • Be a positive role model for students and staff, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning.
  • Grade C or above (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English.
  • An Enhanced Child DBS (we can assist with the application process if needed).
  • Classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Patience and understanding to support pupils in understanding lessons and engaging in activities planned by the teacher.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (Sponsorship not provided).
