About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support to a young boy in Reception with Autism. This child is non-verbal, with Polish as his first language spoken at home.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping the child regulate, navigate transitions, and settle into daily routines. The ideal candidate will have a calm, patient, and compassionate nature, making a real difference in the child's school experience.

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with Autism in Reception.
  • Help the child with transitions and daily routines.
  • Use calming strategies to assist in emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies.
  • Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the child and his family.

Application Requirements

  • Experience working with children with Autism or other SEN.
  • A calm and patient approach to behaviour management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-verbal children.
  • Experience working with EAL students is beneficial.
  • Right to work in the UK and relevant DBS checks.
