About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our Transport Team at our Latimer Distribution Centre.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing individual driver schedules that implement the overall Transport plan for the Latimer operation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all deliveries and collections are in line with planned requirements.
  • Providing problem-solving guidance on operational issues such as late changes to plans and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Planning and managing resources to deliver a cost-effective delivery service.
  • Producing individual plans for particular drivers within an overall plan.
  • Analyzing the plan against actual schedules to understand areas of improvement.
  • Maintaining compliance and conformance for safe working practices and working time regulations.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensuring the completion of all associated records and reports and highlighting any inaccuracies, issues, or complaints.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for improved operational efficiencies.
  • Organizing shunters and ensuring that vehicles and trailers are available when needed.
About You

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication and analytical skills and experience of producing reports.

You should also have experience of planning a large and successful transport operation, along with a strong understanding of transportation management principles and practices.
