Job Summary:

Morson Talent is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their team in a Plymouth-based client. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming and operating CNC multi-axis turning centers, as well as proficiency in one or more of the following CNC controls: Siemens and/or Mazak.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program and operate CNC multi-axis turning centers to produce high-precision components.
  • Work to fine tolerances (imperial and metric measurements) and utilize appropriate measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers).
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure accurate production.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve production issues and improve processes.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • NVQ Level 2 applications will be considered with relevant experience in the field.
  • Excellent attitude towards health and safety, with a strong commitment to good working practices.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, with a forward-thinking commercial attitude and a focus on excellent customer care.

Working Conditions:

  • 35 hours per week, with variable working patterns.
  • Pay enhancement for shift working (18% shift hours uplift applicable).
  • Day Shift: 07:30 - 15:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 - 12:30 on Friday.
  • Back Shift: 15:00 - 23:00 Monday to Thursday, 12:00 - 17:00 on Friday.
