About the Role

We are seeking a qualified social worker to join our Family Safeguarding Teams in Somerset. As a key member of our team, you will work alongside adult-focused practitioners to inform assessments and plans, and work with children and families who are experiencing challenges around complex neglect, sexual harm, physical harm, and risks outside of the home.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with manageable caseloads, allowing you to be innovative and creative in your approach to social work. You will undertake direct work with children and young people to hear their voice and understand their experiences, and work with parents and the wider family network to support them to identify strengths, tackle problems, and change interactions and behaviours.

We are looking for a social worker who is passionate about relationship-based social work, proud of their profession, and able to reflect and think creatively about how they can build relationships to make a positive difference to children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with children and families who are experiencing challenges around complex neglect, sexual harm, physical harm, and risks outside of the home
  • Undertake direct work with children and young people to hear their voice and understand their experiences
  • Work with parents and the wider family network to support them to identify strengths, tackle problems, and change interactions and behaviours
  • Collaborate with adult-focused practitioners to inform assessments and plans
Requirements
  • Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experience working with children and families in social work within a Local Authority team
  • Experience of work within family courts is essential
  • Passionate about relationship-based social work
  • Competent IT user able to use or learn to use LiquidLogic
  • Full driving licence and access to own vehicle for travel

Regular Pay: £28.19

Saturdays: £36.65

Sundays: £56.38

Bank Holidays: £42.29
