About the role

Gentoo Group is investing in and expanding its Property Maintenance Team. We have new opportunities for skilled Plumbers to join our team. Our tenants are at the heart of what we do, therefore providing excellent customer service is paramount in this role.

You will need to be a people person with the ability to communicate effectively with various teams, colleagues, and customers within Gentoo to ensure we deliver excellent customer service every time.

Your working week:
We offer reduced working hours through the summer with 1 pm and 3 pm finishes available. During the winter our Plumbers work up to 4.30 pm Mon – Fri. Occasional Sat morning working is required, when worked the following Friday will become a day off.

As a Plumber at Gentoo, you would carry out tasks across our housing stock in Sunderland:

• Ensure the Group is compliant in Gas and day-to-day Plumbing repairs including Heating installs and Water Safety
• Carry out responsive repairs to Gentoo properties including installation and maintenance of sanitary ware, lumbing/heating systems, soil and rainwater goods
• Installation of gas boilers, heating systems, associated pipework and components
• Testing, commissioning and de-commissioning of all the above components and services

The Plumbing & Gas team carried out:

• 32,826 Gas checks
• 1,242 Heating upgrades in our tenanted and void properties

About You

We require from you:

• A basic DBS check, paid for by Gentoo
• A full clean UK Driving License
• ACS accreditation in CCN1 and elements including CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1
• NVQ Level 2, or equivalent City and guilds craft certification in Gas/Plumbing
• Experience of Gas policies and procedures, as well as knowledge of a variety of gas appliances is essential

Estimated Salary £33,000 - £40,000 per annum
