Job Opportunity in Geriatric Medicine

The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking a Speciality Doctor to join their team in Geriatric Medicine. This role is based in St David's Hospital and Barry Hospital, where you will work alongside Consultant Geriatricians, Specialty Doctors, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to frail older patients.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, providing holistic care to patients with complex needs. You will be responsible for managing patient care, working closely with other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of the ward's care model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care
  • Contribute to the development of the ward's care model and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to decision-making
Requirements
  • Four years full-time postgraduate training in a relevant specialty or equivalent experience/competencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Up-to-date knowledge of clinical risk management and clinical governance
