Specialist Science Educator

Academics Ltd is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Specialist Science Educator to join our team in a dedicated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) educational environment.

In this role, you will be instrumental in assisting and mentoring students with a range of needs as they navigate their scientific education.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver captivating and tailored science lessons to students with SEMH requirements, ensuring their academic progress and success.
  • Design personalized learning strategies and modify teaching methods to suit the diverse abilities and learning preferences of students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages emotional health and educational achievement.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials to deepen students' comprehension of scientific concepts.
  • Effectively use assessment tools to track student progress, pinpoint areas needing improvement, and provide meaningful feedback.

Collaborate with fellow educators, including Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs), support personnel, and families, to establish a comprehensive support network for students.

Implement effective behavior management strategies to address challenging behaviors and assist students in developing self-regulation skills.

Maintain thorough documentation of student accomplishments, attendance, and behavior, and prepare reports as necessary.


Qualifications:
  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching credential.
  • Specialization in Science, with a solid grasp of the subject curriculum.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs or in a comparable educational setting.
  • Understanding of effective SEMH teaching methodologies and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and the capacity to remain composed in challenging circumstances.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Dedication to continuous professional growth and a willingness to explore new teaching strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a background in teaching, whether in mainstream or specialized environments, and will be familiar with the relevant examination boards and specifications.
