About 2i Recruit Ltd: 2i Recruit Ltd is a leading recruitment agency in the UK legal sector. We are recruiting for a highly skilled Legal Cashier Specialist to join our team.
Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
Job Overview:
The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced office environment. You will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Process client payments and receipts according to SRA rules.
- Handle client funds correctly and make transfers as required.
- Reconcile client ledgers and accounts on a regular basis.
- Manage office finances, including daily banking transactions, payments, and receipts.
- Process and reconcile office expenses, including invoices from suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of VAT and prepare VAT returns.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all client and office accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with preparing and distributing client invoices.
- Ensure timely payment of client bills.
- Support the management of aged debtors and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, particularly the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Stay informed about changes in financial regulations affecting law firms.
- Liaise with banks and financial institutions as needed.
- Oversee supplier payments and track costs.
- Fulfill compliance policies and adhere to firm procedures.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize tasks.
- Experience working in an office setting.
- Promote exceptional client service and satisfaction.
- Knowledge of the annual audit process.
- Proficient in double-entry accounting.
- Maintain accurate client and office accounts.
- Understand and comply with SRA rules.
- Accurately complete VAT returns.
- Skillful use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with the legal industry.
