About the Position
This exciting opportunity as a SEMH Support Assistant offers the chance to work with a secondary school in Barking & Dagenham. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, both within and outside the classroom. Responsibilities and Requirements
- Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs
- Develop and lead interventions to enhance academic progress and personal development
- Work collaboratively with families, teachers, and external professionals to deliver holistic support
- Create a safe and conducive learning environment that fosters positive attitudes and behaviours

Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- A 1:1 or 2:1 Psychology degree from a reputable UK institution
- Relevant experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) or SEMH
- Familiarity with evidence-based SEMH strategies and practices
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external partners
