About the Role:

As a Control Room Night Operator, you will be working in South Petherton, supporting the Operations Management team and Plant Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the Anaerobic Digestion plant outside regular working hours. Working a 48-hour week on a rotating shift pattern (6 pm to 6 am), including weekends, you will contribute to maintaining the plant's efficiency and safety. You will also be responsible for providing holiday cover for your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and responding to the company's SCADA system, identifying and addressing operational issues.
  • Liaising with the on-call Plant Operators and Plant Manager to resolve problems promptly and minimize disruptions.
  • Collaborating with the on-call maintenance team to ensure timely maintenance work is logged and completed.
  • Performing minor mechanical maintenance repairs.
  • Operations of the weighbridge, with full training provided.
  • Logging events on the company's database and ensuring accurate handovers to day staff.
  • Preparing routine performance reports.
  • Flexibility in covering annual leave and colleague absences.

Key Requirements:

  • Full UK driving license due to the plant's rural location.
  • Previous experience working with similar control room systems.
  • Ability and experience operating a telehandler/tractor/forklift, with training provided.
  • Excellent IT skills, with strong numerical, analytical, and diagnostic abilities.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
