Job Summary:

Principal Resourcing is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support the delivery of lessons and learning activities in secondary schools across Selby, North Yorkshire. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the positive progression of students' learning and development, while maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and supervise pre-planned lessons and learning activities for students in the absence of the teacher
  • Manage classroom behavior and ensure students are engaged in their learning
  • Support the implementation of the planned curriculum and work collaboratively with the teaching staff
  • Provide a positive and supportive learning environment for students
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and other school staff to ensure a smooth transition of lessons and activities

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at Grade C and above
  • Confident and positive approach to working with children
  • Passion for education and commitment to supporting student learning and development
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults is preferable, but not essential as full training will be given
  • Current DBS registration with the update service or a DBS completed through Principal Resourcing
