About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a confident and competent midwife, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to women and birthing people in all aspects of midwifery.


Job Responsibilities



  • Assess and plan care for women and birthing people in low-risk settings, including home births and waterbirths.
  • Provide supervision, care, and advice to women and birthing people during pregnancy, labour, and postpartum periods.
  • Conduct deliveries under own responsibility and care for newborns.
  • Participate in continuing professional development and other development activities.
  • Lead clinical and managerial teams in delivering evidence-based client-centered care.

Requirements



  • Registered midwife with practice experience.
  • Able to assess and plan care for women and birthing people in all aspects of midwifery.
  • Knowledge of emergency services in hospital and community settings.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to take charge in absence of direct line manager.
  • Demonstrate midwifery skills underpinned by current evidence.

Working Conditions


The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, covering various shifts and on-call commitments as required by the service. The role offers opportunities for personal and professional growth, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.


Compensation Package


The salary for this position is £44,414 - £55,760 per annum, depending on experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, health insurance, and paid time off, is also available.
