Job Description

Biomerics is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling builds and inventory control of materials required for production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review production and sales order reports daily to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Coordinate the schedule and movement of materials between departments.
  • Plan and determine the most efficient method of achieving objectives within the framework of technical capabilities.
  • Create manufacturing order schedules and purchase requisitions for assigned projects using MRP.
  • Track and monitor purchased materials for assigned projects.
  • Identify critical parts and critical path assemblies to scheduled delivery dates.
  • Execute plans and control programs through manufacturing and testing to ensure timely delivery of equipment to customers.
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments.
  • Perform complex expediting and record-keeping functions with current information on the location and progress of manufactured parts and assemblies.
  • Release kits to the production floor with proper travelers, operation sheets, and documentation.
  • Report and resolve any problems or difficulties impacting on-time delivery of jobs.
  • Arrange in-plant and transfer orders of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Compile and maintain manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials.
  • Move or transport material from one department to another.
  • Expedite material to assure delivery and availability of material by due date.
  • Follow processing of internal work orders to assure that items and assemblies will be completed on schedule.
  • Report and review any ECNs to ensure WIP is at current revisions.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, coworkers, clients, and vendors.
  • Review and report reorder points, safety stock, ABC categorization, MOQ to manager.
  • Report to the Planning and Material Requirements Manager and oversee the daily planning, pre-planning, and scheduling for production schedules and inventory based on customer projects assigned.
  • Monitor inventory and optimize inventory turns and performance, minimize and control inventory obsolescence.
  • Collaborate with Production Manager, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping/Receiving to ensure production progresses on-time and within budget, address issues timely to minimize production disruption.
  • Monitor the movement of assemblies through ERP.
  • Responsible for performing a variety of routing, dispatching, and expediting duties necessary to meet production schedules.
  • Measure performance of all critical factors to ensure compliance to plans, including publishing of KPIs.
  • Own production orders from start to finish, recording time and output, and troubleshooting any discrepancies immediately with a common goal of correcting the problems.
  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc., and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals.
  • Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values and keep management informed of any significant problems.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years' experience in Planning or Production Control in Manufacturing/Medical Device experience.
  • 6+ years ERP/MRP proficient experience, e.g., Epicor, Job Boss, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of backlog/work schedules, bill of material, and receiving reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • S&OP proficiency.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Flexible and Adaptable - priorities change frequently based on business demands, the ability to change direction quickly is critical.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing/Medical Device experience.
  • Strong planning, analytical, and forecasting skills with a strategic focus.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and drive corrective actions.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 is desired.
  • Team player and a people person, work well under pressure and minimal supervision.
  • Must have strong aptitude in: Analytical, Organization, Detail Oriented, Problem Solving, Planning, Follow-Up, Project Management, and Time Management.
  • Maintain the ERP system integrity to drive material and production schedules and execute processes per requirements.
