An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Orthoptist to provide high-quality services to patients in two acute hospitals within Swansea Bay University Health Board.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing a variety of ocular motility conditions in both pediatric and adult patients.
Main Responsibilities- Use a range of orthoptic skills to assess and manage ocular motility conditions
- Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Participate in multidisciplinary audits and contribute to the development of orthoptic services
- Degree or equivalent in Orthoptics
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Awareness of the HCPC standards of performance and ethics
- Awareness of the British and Irish Orthoptic Society (BIOS) Orthoptic Code of Conduct
The post holder will be expected to participate in the Health Board's individual performance review process to ensure continued professional development.
The Health Board is committed to protecting its staff, patients, assets, and reputation through an effective risk management process.
The post holder will be required to comply with the Trust's Risk Management Policy, Health and Safety Policy, and other associated policies.
