About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Accountant to join our Financial Accounting & Reporting team at Get Living. As an Academic Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate accounts and supporting the business through the operation and development of multiple assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of development related expenditure, capital expenditure, and staff costs, providing accurate information to the business on a timely basis, including narrative reporting.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accruals and prepayments, and prepare balance sheet reconciliations for accruals and prepayments.
  • Lead on intercompany billing processes and maintain a strong link to the FP&A team to support management reporting and budget processes.
  • Liaise with relevant individuals in the business and drive a stringent procurement process, including raising and reviewing purchase orders, providing coding guidance, and supporting the AP team and Procurement Manager on an ad hoc basis.
  • Be a key contact for external auditors/tax advisors, responding to queries and providing supporting schedules where necessary.
  • Act as finance lead on the credit card process, coordinating statements and owning reporting process.

Requirements

  • Part/newly qualified ACCA or ACA qualification
  • Experience of month end close process (journal posting, balance sheet reconciliations)
  • Use of accounting applications for posting journals, reporting, data validation
