Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Coder Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting and recording accurate patient data, supporting clinical coders, and mentoring trainees.

About the Role:
As a Senior Clinical Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of patient data. You will work closely with our clinical coding team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to ensure compliance with coding standards. You will also provide guidance and support to less experienced coders and trainees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To extract and record accurate patient data according to recognized coding methods.
  • To support clinical coders within the department and assist with audits.
  • To mentor and supervise trainee clinical coders.
Estimated salary: £28,808 - £40,322 per annum.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have Accredited Clinical Coder Status, at least 10 years of clinical coding experience, and good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
